The Whiteout Threshold (Semiotic Characterization)

In our talks, we identify thoughts and find paths of meaning between these thoughts. This process maps a matrix of points, interconnected by infinite "struts," each of which is a same-but-different transform of duality/unity. As we accelerate, the nodes become more numerous and their interconnections more dense, self-referential, overlapping, and ramified; we seem to be pushing into an increasingly concentrated medium. And we are approaching a threshold.

Crossing this threshold creates a "whiteout" experience. The craft's instrumentation returns null signals; we no longer know what we are mapping, or that we are mapping. Rather than leaping between discrete atoms of meaning, we are immersed in a continuous ocean of it. Stable particles and their bonds become a singularity and its wave forces. There is too much consciousness for us to remain lucid.

While this experience may be disorienting and occasionally uncomfortable, we find that trust and surrender carries us safely through. We inevitably recover our bearings and re-cross the threshold to where narrative thought is once again possible. Here, in fact, we may be delighted to see that we have scraped our craft's (current) service ceiling -- and seek to return to the edge of stable knowledge.
